NPA yearly rivalry returns following 17 years

Following 17 years of latency, the Nigerian Ports Authority Sports Association (NIPOSA) has resuscitated the Ports Authority Games with a three-day rivalry at the U.J. Esuene Sports Complex, Calabar.

The Managing Director of NPA, Adiza Usman, said at the opening on Thursday that it was intended to unite the staff from different ports to mingle and to grandstand their gifts.

"This is an environment where we meet up to collaborate casually; where we feature our individual games gifts,'' she said.

Adiza, spoke to by the Calabar Port Manager, Olufumilayo Olotu, said the administration chose to revive the Games last held in 2001, to guarantee the physical wellness of individuals from staff.

She included that NIPOSA had in the past delivered remarkable sportsmen and ladies that won shrubs for both the NPA and Nigeria at different games meets.

"This is additionally expected to choose competitors that will speak to NPA in outside games rivalries,'' she said.

Adiza asked the competitors to give their best amid the Games.

The games for the Games incorporate Table Tennis, Football, Chess, Badminton and Scrabble.
